Management Planning DX System “ReCo”
We are developing and operating a proprietary management planning DX system “ReCo”, to analyze and visualize the university’s management and research capabilities. This system consolidates various data scattered both inside and outside the university into a unified database, allowing us to perform advanced analytics and visualization using a proprietary algorithm and business intelligence (BI) tools.
Provision of External Funding Opportunities
We collect a wide range of information related to external funding and disseminate it to researchers through various means, including our website. We also organize information sessions for funding opportunities.
Research Promotion Policy Planning
Under the supervision of the Executive Vice President (Research), we propose measures to facilitate the creation of internationally excellent research and promote the acquisition of research funds to help enhance the presence of Osaka University.
Fostering Multidisciplinary Research Projects
We foster cross-departmental and international research projects that address social issues and government strategies. To achieve this, we bring together researchers from different fields, create an environment that promotes innovations, and accompany researchers in planning and promoting large-scale projects.
Research Trend Analysis
We identify weak signals related to research through regular information exchange with ministry and FA experts and active collection and analysis of various public information. We also analyze research trends on a regular schedule.
Management Analytics
In order to strengthen the university's management capabilities and achieve sustainable growth, we develop effective financial strategies through financial analysis and support the entire management system of the university.
We also foster organizational growth and assist realization of new projects and initiatives through data-driven support for the departmental management and the provost.
Research Analytics
With a focus on strengthening our research capabilities, we are developing strategies to increase our competitiveness in the academic field.
We conduct various analyses of our research capabilities by linking the IR data analysis with the information URA obtains from the researchers and the government.
Decision Support for Executive Members
In response to special orders from the executive members, we conduct necessary investigations and make recommendations based on these investigations.
Survey and Planning Related to the OU Master Plan
With an eye on the medium- to long-term vision of the university, we are conducting research, planning, and preparing materials for the University for International Research Excellence.

Planning measures to secure resources for the Office of Management and Planning
Strengthening of the Planning Support System
We are strengthening the foundations of our planning support system by fostering URAs and other planning support personnel, promoting collaboration between faculty and staff, and building inter-departmental and inter-institutional URA networks. In addition, to maintain and develop the planning support system, we are working to secure URAs and other planning support personnel and establish career paths for them.
Analytical HR Development
We are developing analytical personnel by offering analytical tool training courses. Our goal is to have personnel within the university use data effectively and gain insights. We also employ graduate students as research assistants and strive to develop excellent analytical personnel through practical experience.
Response to the University Assessment
We respond to publicly mandated university evaluations, with a focus on evaluations related to the University for International Research Excellence and national university corporation evaluations. We also provide support for the design of government-related evaluations from a professional evaluation standpoint, leading to the improvement and development of the university sector.
Assessment and Quality Assurance Support
In order to realize reform and development as a university, it is essential to have a functioning internal quality assurance system that links its own evaluation to improvement. We will promote research and studies on the latest trends in budget-related evaluation, social impact evaluation, etc., and establish an effective evaluation and quality assurance system.
Administrative staff working as URAs
Administrative staff members acquire advanced research support skills by working as URAs at the Office of Management and Planning. We also promote and disseminate these skills throughout the administrative organization. Additionally, we contribute to the expansion and promotion of URA activities by leveraging the expertise and network of administrative staff.
Social Impact Analytics
Through data analysis, literature review, and interviews, we comprehensively identify social needs and develop project plans based on these needs. Through monetization of research results focused on innovations that contribute to society, we promote the realization of the university's social mission and contribution to a sustainable society.
