The presentation of posters about 5 topics at the 10th Annual Conference of RMAN-J
In October 2024, we presented posters presented 4 topics about our office at the 10th Annual Conference of RMAN-J※1.
◆Titles of Presentation◆
1)Construction of Management Planning System “ReCo” and development of IR-driven research management
[Overvie]
Our Office has originally developed a system called "ReCo" to analyze and visualize the university's management and research capabilities. This innovative system integrates advanced analytical algorithms to unify and analyze a broad range of data related to management and research capacities, collected from both within and outside the university. In this award-winning presentation, we introduced groundbreaking work in IR-driven research management reform, showcasing the creation of our original Management Planning DX system "ReCo".
2)Initiatives for Detecting Weak Signals Indicating the Emergence of Research Fields: Development of ReCo-foresight
[Overview]
The early detection of weak signals indicating the emergence of research fields is crucial for formulating highly accurate strategies to enhance research capabilities and for creating effective projects. Our Office has developed an algorithm called 'ReCo-foresight' that effectively detects these signals. In this presentation, we discuss the details of the ReCo-foresight algorithm and, as an example, examine the signals identified from the U.S. NIH research project database and their validity.
3)Creation of Social Issue-Oriented Research Projects Using the Management Planning DX System “ReCo”
[Overview]
Our Office aims to connect the university with society and contribute to solving social issues and creating value by not only performing data analysis but also collaboratively planning and promoting large-scale, social issue-oriented research projects with researchers. In this presentation, we introduce a case in which the proprietary strategic planning DX system 'ReCo' was utilized in last year's application for the 'Innovative GX Technology Creation Project (GteX),' and discuss approaches to supporting the creation of large-scale research projects.
4)Initiatives to Strengthen Research Development on the International Stage: Perspectives on Departmental and University-Wide Promotion
[Overview]
Our Office has appointed an 'International URA' to advance efforts aimed at strengthening international research development in this year. In this presentation, we report and discuss several initiatives, including the evaluation methods used for current policies, approaches to building international networks, and efforts to establish collaborative frameworks between research and international liaison departments based on the current status and insights from each area. These initiatives have been carried out in the process of designing strategies to support researchers’ international engagement.。
5)Initiatives and Impact of Administrative Staff Engaged in URA and IR Tasks
[Overview]
Osaka University has a training program called "URA×IR Staff Development Program." The aim of this program is for highly-motivated administrative staff applicants to acquire advanced research support skills by working as URAs. The presentation demonstrated, based on practical examples, that this training not only enhances the skills of administrative staff but also effectively contributes to the expansion and promotion of URA activities within the university, while outlining a vision for the future of the university's administrative organization.
※1RMAN-J is Japan's only nation-wide professional association for those engaged in research management and administration. It aims to promote science, technology, and future innovation from Japan through the enhancement of research capabilities of Japanese universities and research institutes. Since its inception in 2015, RMAN-J has provided networking, dialogue, and training opportunities for research managers and administrators in Japan.
