Katsuyoshi Kondoh- Director
He received his Ph.D. in Engineering from Osaka University. He began his career working at Sumitomo Electric Industries in 1988. In 2002, he transitioned to academia, assuming the role of Assistant Professor at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo. He became a Professor at Joining and Welding Research Institute, Osaka University in 2006 while concurrently holding administrative positions such as the Senior Advisor to the Executive Director, Vice Director, and Senior Advisor to the President. His noteworthy recognitions include the 2002 Japan Welding Society Paper Award, the 2011 Ichimura Academic Award, the 2014 Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the 2014 JSPM Award for Distinguished Achievements in Research, and the 2022 Keynote Papers Award from the European Powder Metallurgy Association.
