After his initial residency, Dr. Ogawa pursued clinical practice and research as a dermatologist at Nagoya University Hospital, where he also obtained his Ph.D. During this period, he had the opportunity to conduct research both abroad and in Japan, serving as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and as a specially appointed assistant professor at Tokyo Medical and Dental University (currently Institute of Science Tokyo).
In 2018, he was seconded to the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED), where he was involved in program management. Upon returning to Nagoya University in 2020, he joined the Department of Advanced Medicine, an Academic Research Organization (ARO) within the university, serving as a project manager and contributing to initiatives supporting external research funding. He has held his current position since November 2025.
